Aftercare Advice

Dermalogica Facial

  • Avoid wearing make-up for at least 24 hours
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Avoid sunbathing for up to 12 hours
  • Avoid direct heat, such as saunas, hot baths, showers
  • Do not apply any other exfoliating skincare products for 72 hours after having a facial
  • Always use an SPF sunscreen to block ultraviolet B rays.
  • Always remove makeup at the end of the day


Dermalogica Pro Power Peel

  • You may appear red and flushed following the treatment, and may be more sensitive depending on your skin condition.
  • Side effects include, but are not limited to dryness, stinging, itching, irritation, redness, tightness, peeling.
  • By the second day, skin may peel or look darker.
  • On the third day, peeling may begin around the nose and mouth, followed by the cheeks, forehead, jawline and neck.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise on the day of the treatment.
  • Avoid saunas or steam rooms as these activities increase blood circulation to the face
  • You must always wear a SPF protection after this treatment


Waxing

  • Keep the area that has been waxed clean and avoid scratching, heat and friction and wear loose fitting clothing
  • Do not take a hot bath or shower, keep the temperature of the water to cool to lukewarm and do not use perfumed bath or shower products
  • Do not apply deodorants, body sprays, powders or lotions to the area
  • Do not use saunas, hot tubs, steam rooms or infra-red lamps
  • Do not go swimming, attend the gym or participate in other form of exercise/dance class.
  • Do not use a sunbed, apply fake tan or have a professional spray tan treatment


LVL Eye Treatment

  • Avoid getting your eyelashes wet for the first 24hours
  • Avoid steam, saunas and swimming for first 48 hours
  • Avoid touching, rubbing or introducing foreign bodies or contaminants into the treatment area
  • Ensure lashes are not disturbed or manipulated into a different position (e.g. when sleeping, cleansing the face, applying moisturiser or cosmetics)
  • Do not use lash curlers
  • Avoid strong sunlight or UV light (if tinted)


GELeration

  • Always remove your gel nails properly. Products are available to purchase at The Cedar Hut for at home renewal or I offer a nail removal service.
  • Do not pick or peel the gel as this can damage the natural nail
  • Avoid heat such as bath, shower, sauna, steam room, hot ovens and ironing for at least 2-3 hours after your appointment.
  • Wear gloves when washing up or cleaning
  • Do not file your nails or push your cuticles back while wearing the gel polish as this will break the seal of the gel and lead to chipping
  • Apply cuticle oil once or twice a day to the top and underside of the nail and the surrounding skin as this will help with hydration and promote growth


Massage and Holistic

  • After your treatment, your body and mind are in a relaxed state.
  • Drink plenty of water, this helps with hydration, lost fluids, reduces fatigue, as well as helps eliminate toxins from your body
  • Avoid drinking alcohol or caffeine containing beverage for at least 12 hours as they have dehydrating products
  • Avoid strenuous activity for the next 12 hours, to help your body relax and de-stress further
  • When sitting in front of a computer for longer than 2o minutes, stand up to stretch and gently warm up your joints
  • Book another massage


Manicure

  • To make the best of your newly manicured hands, follow these simple guidelines:
  • Wear protective gloves when gardening, or doing housework
  • Dry hands thoroughly after washing
  • Use hand cream regularly
  • Do not use your fingernails as tools, use pads of fingers instead
  • Always use a base coat under polish to prevent staining, and use a good quality top coat to prevent chipping
  • Use an acetone-free nail polish remover
  • Never use metal files
  • Keep nails a workable length
  • Use cuticle cream or oil daily to moisturise dry cuticles
  • Do simple hand exercise to keep joints supple
  • Have regular manicures to keep your hands and nails at their best


Legs and Toes

  • Wear open toe shoes
  •  Change socks or tights daily
  •  Apply moisturising lotion daily to the feet after bathing
  •  Apply talc or special foot powder between the toes to help absorb moisture
  •  Foot sprays containing peppermint or citrus oil are useful to refresh the feet during the day
  •  Dry hands and feet thoroughly after washing, especially between toes and fingers
  •  Use cuticle cream or oil daily to moisturise dry cuticles
  •  Use an acetone-free nail polish remover
  • Have regular pedicures to keep your feet nourished
